High Five for Friday, #5

Miss grump over here, a.k.a ME woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning and is in a not so happy mood. It’s only 8:30 a.m. so hopefully I can get out of it sooner rather than later. This Friday just isn’t going to be my day. Reasons:

1. Overslept AGAIN and missed my workout class.
2. Still couldn’t get up early so Kyle and I didn’t have time to go to Viva.
3. I have to work both jobs all day and all night — 14 hours. Ugh.
4. I have so much on my to-do list = stressed to the max.
5. My hair look/feels like crap today. If anyone wants to suggest new hair products to make your hair shiny and smooth and curl perfectly every single day — please let me know.

BUT I’m not going to drag you guys down with me into this black hole of anxiety, so I’ll jump right into my High Five for Friday post, linking up with Lauren! Maybe recapping on my highlights of the week will help me remember how good I have it.

one. I spent Saturday night with these 4 amazing young women. I had a blast with them, like I always do and I can’t wait to do it again soon :)
two. Kyle and I went to Walmart to pick up some groceries and I passed a large bin of these plastic kids cups. I mean…..what would you do? They were $0.87 cents each and totally worth it. I got the princess cup and Kyle got his superman one. Then we filled them with mixed drinks. Who are we?
three. As you saw from my post yesterday, I received my first Stitch Fix package in the mail 2 days ago and I loveddd it. This sweater was my favorite.
four. Kyle sent me a nice little selfie of himself while I was at work yesterday. Hint: Don’t ever send these kind of things to public bloggers or you are risking the chance of it being displayed for the entire world. Also, read Whitney’s post here on not pissing off bloggers — HILARIOUS.
five. I’ve been slaving away for the past couple of days working on the bulletin boards that surround my office in Student Activities. I have completed four and have four more to go {there are 4 boards total, but they are front and back}. I’m not gunna lie, I’m pretty proud of them so far. However, I did not know you could actually get a bruise on your hand from cutting with scissors so much. Ouch.

That was my week in a nutshell. Not completely exciting but it was a pretty solid week in my book. Alright, that did boost my mood a little bit — I am one lucky gal to have such great friends and such an amazing and supportive boyfriend.

……sorry to be all mushy and sentimental {as usual}.

Time to get to work and continue cutting and stapling my life away.

The boy behind the blog, {2}

I bet you didn’t think you’d see me again today! BUT I forgot about The boy behind the blog link-up with Mal & Stephanie and Kyle would have been incredibly disappointed if I’d missed it. {Okay, probably not — but I can pretend}

Mal Smiles

Kyle’s Answers:

1. What would you do with $1,000,000?
Well….. I am studying to be a Financial Planner, (or analyst) so I tend to ramble about the subject of money. Nonetheless I will begin with saying I would first create a reserve with 10% of the monies. A reserve would consist of short duration bonds, or in this case an Absolute Return Fund. 100,000 dollars can go by really fast when their are bills to be paid, so be smart and don’t spend it! I would then use the 900,000 dollars left to invest in stocks and bonds. I would create a diverse portfolio buying various stocks that are priced at the best value.

{…………wait what}

2. What if your dream job?
I dream of becoming the worlds greatest investor someday, but being realistic I want to work in the Private Bank Division at J. P. Morgan as a Managing Director. This job in short is the greatest job I could ever ask for. I would build and maintain relationships with high profile clients that invest their money with J. P. Morgan.

{……..stay at home mom? I’ll take it}

3. Who is your celebrity crush?
I’ll go with Sofia Vergara on this one.

4. What is your favorite sports team?
I love the Kansas City Chiefs. They are a great football team, and I will be a fan until I die. When I was little I adopted the Chiefs as my team, and have stuck with them through their ups and downs. Tony Gonzalaz is worth mentioning considering he has been my role model since grade school. He plays for the Atlanta Falcons now, so I wish him the best of luck. Anyway, I am expecting big things out of the Chiefs this year and football season cannot come soon enough.

kyle{dawww, look at little baby Kyle}

5. What was your old AOL/AIM screen name back in the day?

There ya go! Kyle’s time to shine on this little blog of mine. {I swear I didn’t mean that to rhyme….}
See everyone tomorrow for High Five for Friday!

Stitch Fix!

My first Stitch Fix package came!!

For all of you who don’t know what in the world I am talking about, Stitch Fix is basically the coolest service out there right now. You take an online style quiz so a magical person behind the computer screen can put together all your favorite pieces and send you a completely random box of clothes and accessories. You try on everything they send you and you have 3 days to decide what you’d like to keep and what you’d like to send back. For the clothes you’d like to keep, you go on their site and purchase them right then and there. For the clothes you want to send back, they supply you with a return bag with the return address already on it. VERY convenient.

Now I have my own personal stylist! That’s right, I don’t ever have to go to the store again. With my busy schedule this was an amazing find.

My first package consisted of a sweater, a sheer blouse, a pair of pants, a necklace and a dress.

IMG_4025This sweater was my ultimate favorite of everything I received. It is so comfortable, I can’t wait for it to start getting cooler so I can wear it. Definitely keeping this.

IMG_4036This blouse is spot on with my style. I like the colors and the stripes but it just didn’t fall perfect on my body for me to love it. I’ll be sending this back.

IMG_4030These pants were SO comfortable. They stretched to form my body shape and Kyle even complimented how nice my butt looked ;) However, they were just too high in price for me to hold on to them.

IMG_4034This necklace was gorgeous. This picture doesn’t do it justice. The gold shimmers in the sun and is the perfect accessory for any outfit. The price wasn’t outrageous for this piece but with where I am financially, I just couldn’t get myself to keep it.

IMG_4038This dress is very pretty on. It will fit any body shape because you can tie it however tight or loose you’d like it. I was not blessed with a large bust area so I was falling out a bit on top when I walked, so I will be sending this back as well.

I realize I am sending most of the items back, but other than the sweater I didn’t fall in love with anything else. It was definitely spot on to my style so I can’t WAIT see what else I get. My next package is already scheduled!

I’m hooked!
